Dr Vanessa Ho is Reader in Pharmacology and Inclusive Practice and Dean for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion of St George’s University of London. She studied Natural Sciences (Pharmacology) and obtained her PhD in vascular pharmacology from University of Cambridge. After post-doctoral fellowships in Medical College of Wisconsin (USA) and University of Nottingham, she took up a lectureship at St George’s University of London. Her research has focused on the effect of cannabinoids in the circulation and in the central nervous system, with particular interests in the therapeutic potential of pharmacological inhibitors of endocannabinoid degradation. She has an extensive education portfolio, ranging from curriculum development including the introduction of drugs of abuse and drug discovery and development modules, to welfare support and quality assurance and enhancement. Dr Ho is a committed leader of equality, diversity and inclusion at St George’s and beyond. Her work in this area includes institutional leadership of Athena SWAN and race equality, and strategic advisor roles for Advance HE and International Cannabinoid Research Society.
